Store Associate – Full Time or Part Time

Driving Wind Farm is a vibrant and welcoming destination offering a unique farm experience. Our store sells a variety of locally made and farm-produced goods, including jams and jellies, toys, fresh honey and eggs, trinkets, clothing, candles, plants and flowers, and more. We also operate a seasonal berry-picking experience and a year round café, making our farm a favorite stop for families, school groups and visitors.

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Store Associate/Clerk to assist with the daily operations of our store and farm. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic environment, loves working outside, engaging with customers and contributing to a farm-focused retail and hospitality experience. The Store Associate/Clerk will help customers with berry picking during the season, support plant and flower care and sales, help maintain our store appearance and inventory, and assist with planning parties and events. Additionally, the Store Associate/Clerk will help with field trips, and other group visits, ensuring visiting groups have a seamless and enjoyable experience.

We prefer to find a candidate who is available to work full time, but we will consider part time if you are a perfect fit. Our hours are Monday-Saturday 8:00am-3:00pm. Candidates must be available to work these hours. This is a year-round permanent (not seasonal) position.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the day-to-day operations of the farm store, ensuring a positive and welcoming shopping experience.

  • Provide excellent customer service, assisting visitors with purchases and plant inquiries.

  • Assist with café operations as needed, ensuring smooth service.

  • Support seasonal berry-picking operations, guiding customers on the process.

  • Help maintain and promote plant and flower sales in front of and next to the store.

  • Help coordinate field trip logistics, greet school groups and ensure they are informed of their daily itinerary.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the store and surrounding areas.

  • Maintain store inventory.

  • Assist other staff and customers with planning events and parties.

  • Handle cash register transactions, maintain accurate sales records.

  • Provide care and maintenenace to plants and flowers around the store.

  • Work collaboratively with farm staff to ensure a cohesive and efficient operation.

 

Qualifications:

  • Previous retail experience

  • Strong customer service and communication skills

  • Friendly and outgoing personality

  • Self-starter, motivated, and driven personality

  • Experience in sales and upselling to customers is a plus

  • Ability to multitask and adapt to different responsibilities throughout the day

  • Comfortable working in a farm environment, including interacting with animals and nature.

  • Knowledge of and experience with care of plants and flowers is a plus

  • Enjoy being outside and getting your hands dirty

  • Nursery or garden center experience is a plus

  • Experience as an event planner or event assistant is a plus

  • Experience in hospitality or food service is beneficial

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs as needed

  • Availability to work various shifts including Saturdays, evenings, and peak seasonal periods as needed
